Kumana National Park is located in southern part of east coast of Srilanka. It’s considered as one of the block of Yala National park. The park is located 35 kilometers from Arugam bay.
The Kumana is well known among the bird watchers, especially popular for the migratory birds. During the winter season in the North Pole the migratory birds come to Srilanka. Beyond the land mass of Srilanka there is no land mass up to Antarctica. So the bird stays here in the Kumana national park region. The rarest bird spotted here is black necked stork.
